A leading hospital in UAE is seeking to recruit the following:
Director of Psychological Services
Detailed duties for the position: ü Responsible for policy development, quality assurance, evidence-based practices and the supervision of Psychological Services Section Staff ü Develop and manage the implementation of the HSMC Psychological Services Strategy ü Develop policy that focuses on prevention, early intervention, and integration of mental and behavioural health with physical health ü Oversee the development and implementation of both global and satellite centre-specific psychological support systems ü Conduct ongoing environmental stress audits to investigate the prevalence of stress related issues and work related demands ü Oversee the design and delivery of a psychology education program, to be integrated as part of an existing Health and Fitness Curriculum that aims to improve the knowledge base of all personnel and help them understand the importance of mental health and well-being ü Design, implement and evaluate interventions and campaigns that promote psychological health and emotional well-being ü Develop and coordinate group and individual counseling clinics designed to facilitate psychological well-being ü Work closely with the Health Education Section to monitor and evaluate HSMC interventions by supporting the design and implementation of carefully targeted research projects ü Provide education and training in psychological theory, diagnostic techniques, treatment modalities, and related mental health programmes to psychologists, allied disciplines, and personnel in medical, educational, and managerial positions within the HSMC ü Oversee and manage assigned cases and Psychological Services Section staff ü Oversee initial and continued education of all Psychological Services Section staff ü Review literature on a regular basis to ensure that interventions are aligned with current best practice ü Assess, diagnose and manage a range of complex patient conditions ü Maintain a close rapport with all referrers to the HSMC ü Provide statistical data and maintain audits regarding the psychological service ü Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records ü Collaborate with relevant staff on psychological programs and patient management
Education and training: ü Minimum of Masters degree in psychology (doctorate in clinical health psychology preferred) ü Excellent computer skills ü Teaching experience beneficial ü Knowledge of both Arabic and English languages are beneficial. ü 10 years relevant experience, including upper management experience ü HAAD accreditation, or the eligibility to gain HAAD accreditation
